After-Hours Cleaning Services Johnsonville
After-hours and night cleaning for offices and commercial premises from Johnsonville to the Wellington CBD, done once your staff have gone home.
After-hours cleaning for Wellington premises
After-hours and night cleaning for Wellington offices and commercial premises. We clean once your staff have gone home, so nobody works around a vacuum cleaner and the building is ready before the first person arrives in the morning. Our operating hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 9pm, which covers both an evening schedule and an early-morning one.
Waikanae Commercial Cleaning Services has been cleaning premises across Wellington, Porirua, the Hutt Valley and the Kāpiti Coast since 1987.

Hours That Suit You
Monday to Friday, 7am to 9pm, so the work happens around your operation rather than through it

Consistent quality, checked by regular inspection rather than assumed
Why most commercial cleaning happens after hours
- The work is faster and better. Empty desks, empty meeting rooms and clear floors mean a room gets cleaned properly rather than around people.
- Nobody is disturbed. Vacuums, floor machines and bathroom cleaning are all disruptive in an occupied office.
- Floors can actually dry. Mopping a corridor at 2pm creates a slip hazard. Mopping it at 7pm does not.
Three practical reasons, and none of them are about appearances.

What an after-hours clean covers
- Reception, entrance glass and front-of-house
- Desks and workstations, dusted and spot-cleaned around equipment
- Meeting rooms reset and tables cleaned
- Kitchens and staff rooms, including appliance exteriors
- Bathrooms cleaned and consumables restocked
- Vacuuming and mopping of all traffic areas
- Rubbish and recycling taken to the building collection point
- Lights off, doors secured and alarm set to your procedure
Periodic work such as floor care and window cleaning is scheduled separately, usually at the quieter end of the week.
Keys, alarms and security
Cleaning after hours means holding access to your building when nobody from your team is there, and it is worth agreeing how that works before the first clean rather than sorting it out afterwards.
Cleaners and supervisors hold the keys or access cards for your building, and supervisors train the cleaners on your alarm procedure before they work on site. Tell us at the site visit how you want access handled and who to contact out of hours. If you are in a managed building we will work to the building manager’s requirements as well as yours.

Evening or early morning?
- Evening suits most offices. The building is empty from around 6pm, the work is done, and the premises are ready overnight.
- Early morning suits sites where people work late, or where you want the building to have been cleaned as recently as possible before the day starts. It also suits reception areas that need to look their best at 8am rather than having sat overnight.
Both work, and the right answer depends on your building.
Some larger sites use both: a full evening clean plus a short morning check of bathrooms and reception.
What we bring, and what stays on site
We supply the equipment and the products. You do not need to provide anything, and you do not need to buy machinery for a contractor to use.
- Commercial vacuums, mops and floor equipment, brought to site or stored on site by agreement
- Cleaning products, including options for premises where fragrance or particular chemicals are a problem
- Consumables such as hand towel, toilet paper, soap and bin liners, where you want those included rather than managed in-house
Consumables are worth deciding early. Some clients prefer to buy their own and have us restock from their cupboard. Others would rather they simply never run out. Both work, but the answer changes the monthly figure, so it belongs in the quote rather than in a conversation six weeks later.
Where equipment is stored in your building we agree where, and it stays there rather than moving between sites.
How you know the clean actually happened
The awkward part of after-hours cleaning is that nobody from your team sees it. You arrive to a result rather than a process, and if something starts slipping it can take a while for anyone to work out why.
Two things deal with that, and both are agreed before the first clean. The site is usually allocated to the same cleaner, so the same person learns your building. And a supervisor inspects the site weekly against the written scope, rather than only when a complaint arrives.
You also deal directly with our manager rather than a general line. That matters more than any reporting system: something raised on Tuesday morning should be dealt with on Tuesday night, not logged and scheduled.

Frequently asked questions
How late can you clean?
Our operating hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 9pm. Genuinely unusual hours outside that are worth discussing at the site visit rather than assuming either way.
Does after-hours cleaning cost more?
Standard evening and early-morning work within our operating hours is priced normally, because that is when most commercial cleaning happens. Restricted-access buildings or genuinely unusual hours cost more to staff and are quoted accordingly. See how commercial cleaning is priced.
Who is actually in my building?
Sites are usually allocated to the same cleaner, so the same person knows your building. That matters for both quality and security.
What if something is missed overnight?
Contact our manager directly. You deal directly with our manager, whose contact details you are given when the contract starts. If something is not right, tell us within 24 to 48 hours and we will return and re-clean the affected area free of charge.
Can you clean while we are still in the building?
Yes, where a site suits it. Larger buildings often need a daytime presence for bathrooms and kitchens as well as an after-hours clean.
Do we need to supply anything?
No. The equipment and the cleaning products are ours. Consumables such as hand towel and toilet paper can be included in the contract or left with you, whichever you prefer, and it is worth deciding at the quote stage because it changes the figure.
What happens on public holidays?
Agreed up front, including which public holidays are cleaned and which are skipped. Sites that close usually skip and pick up on the next visit; sites trading through are cleaned as normal.
Can you clean at weekends?
Our operating hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 9pm. Weekend work sits outside that and is worth raising specifically at the site visit rather than assumed either way, because it depends on staffing the site properly.
