Healthcare Cleaning Services

Healthcare Cleaning Services Kāpiti Coast

Healthcare and medical cleaning across Wellington

Cleaning for medical centres, dental practices, physiotherapy and allied health rooms across Wellington, Porirua, the Hutt Valley and the Kāpiti Coast. Healthcare premises are scoped differently from an office: the sequence of work matters, the products matter, and the areas that look identical to a layperson are not treated the same way.

Waikanae Commercial Cleaning Services has been cleaning premises in this region since 1987.

Consistent quality, checked by regular inspection rather than assumed

Why healthcare cleaning is scoped differently

  • High-touch surfaces first. Door handles, light switches, bed rails, chair arms, reception counters and EFTPOS terminals get specific attention rather than being caught incidentally.
  • Documentation. Practices under audit need to be able to show what was cleaned and when.

In an office, cleaning is about appearance and comfort. In a clinical setting, the order of work is part of the point.

What we clean

  • Consultation and treatment rooms: beds and chairs, benches, basins, high-touch surfaces and floors
  • Waiting rooms and reception: seating, counters, EFTPOS and door furniture
  • Bathrooms and accessible toilets, cleaned and restocked
  • Staff rooms, kitchens and offices
  • Corridors, stairwells and entranceways
  • Hard floors, maintained on a proper cycle. Explore floor care
  • Internal glass and partitions

Clinical waste is handled by your own contractor under your own procedures. We remove general and recycling waste, and work around clinical waste rather than touching it.

How a healthcare contract works

What drives the cost

  • Number of consultation and treatment rooms, which sets the core workload
  • Number of bathrooms
  • Patient volume, since a busy practice needs more frequent attention than a quiet one of the same size
  • Frequency, and whether a midday attendance is required
  • Floor surfaces and the periodic cycle they need
  • Documentation requirements, where a practice needs cleaning records for audit

Changing cleaners without a gap in cover

A practice cannot go a week uncleaned while a changeover is sorted out, so the handover matters more here than in most settings.

The new schedule starts the day after the old one finishes. The practice is walked and the scope written before anything begins, so the first clean is done to an agreed standard rather than to a guess, and the supervisor who scoped the site attends the first visits.

Where your existing cleaners move across to us, we manage that transfer properly. Someone who already knows which rooms are clinical and how your practice runs is worth keeping.

If you are under contract, check the notice period before asking anyone for a quote.

How the standard is checked

In a clinical setting the difference between a good clean and a poor one is often invisible at a glance, which is exactly why it cannot be left to whether the room looks right.

Sites are usually allocated to the same cleaner, so the same person learns your practice. A supervisor inspects the practice weekly against the written scope, and you deal directly with our manager rather than a general line.

Where you need records for an audit we keep site checklists, attendance records, communication logs and quality inspection reports. Say so at the site visit and they are set up from the start, which is far easier than adding them to a contract already running.

If you are comparing quotes, that is the question worth asking each of them: how often a supervisor will actually attend, and whether the answer is written into the contract or simply offered on the phone.
